I think I told you that I loved this when you first posted it here. I'm almost disappointed that you've publicly self-published on AO3: to me this is the sort of thing you should consider entering for competitions etc. For example, the writing mag I get publishes its top three submitted short stories every month (any subject considered and a cash prize) and this could certainly fit with what they publish as a rule. There must be similar comps in the US...

I do wish I'd sent this out before I posted it in my journal, but unfortunately it had already been up so long that I doubt any publisher would consider it new enough.
